VERNET LES BAINS Fête De la Belle Epoque (1890-1914) Each year a tribute is held to a person who lived or visited Vernet in the period above when the cream of high society flocked there. Amateur dramatics held by the locals in period costume enthral the crowds and turn the streets into a thoroughly colourful affair. 1st May – 4th May

CERET Fête de la Cerise/The Cherry Festival Céret hosts the famous festival celebrating the start of the cherry harvest. The region is renowned for its excellent fruit production but paticularly cherries. The first pick of the season by local tradition going to the President of France. Over 2 days of music, dance, children’s entertainment including a human pyramid will all be on offer along with cherry beer, cherry jam, cherry stoning, cherry spitting and of course cherries, cherries, cherries! 31st May from 10.30am & 1st June from 10am
