Why not visit the English lending library at Arles sur Tech? Every Thursday 10:00-13:00 in the Atelier, 13 place de l’Eglise
And if you are interested in the history of the Spanish Civil war in the 1930’s, get a copy of the new book by Victoria Hislop ‘The Return‘. A great read and particularly interesting to read about St Cyprien, which at that time had a population of only about 1,000 people, finding itself home to 75,000 Spanish refugees who had walked either down the coast or over the mountains only to find themselves living on the beach as there was nowhere else for them to go. Other towns further along the Cote Vermeille such as Argeles and Barcares also found themselves in a similar predicament.
